We Are One Arrival 150mm trail bike is their first ever mountain bike frame

We Are One Composites are now in the business of carbon frame fabrication, announcing the release of the We Are One Arrival trail/enduro bike. Known for their carbon rims, We Are One are now designing, manufacturing and building the carbon Arrival frame 100% in-house at their facility in Kamloops, BC. What is it? It’s a 150mm travel 29er, built for “the aggresive rider who wants a playful bike”. Here’s what we know so far.

We Are One Arrival

The We Are One Arrival marks the beginning of a new era for the Canadian composites manufacturer; “The Arrival is here, and we’re just getting started”, is the official line. Before we hypothesize about more bikes to come, let’s dive into the details on their debut frameset.

First up, the Arrival runs a 160mm fork paired with a 150mm travel rear end. That’s delivered through a linkage that may be described as a variation on the DW-Link. It is a short, dual-link setup with a lower link much like what we see on the Ibis Ripmo and Revel’s CBF platform. That’s coupled to an upper link rocker, similar to what can be seen on any bike running Horst-Link suspension. Both links rotate in the same direction.

The front and rear triangles are both carbon, constructed from Toray carbon fibre; the two-piece rocker, lower link, other linkage hardware, stem, rear brake mount, bottom bracket shell, axles, and dropouts are all CNC-machined from aluminium in-house. The only parts that aren’t sourced from North America are the titanium bolts which are shipped in from China.

The rear triangle is one of the most interesting pieces to the puzzle. While it does run a 157mm Super Boost rear axle spacing, it does so without the wide Q-Factor usually associated with the DH-Standard. The We Are One Arrival runs a 52mm chainline, with a 148mm Boost crankset that offers up a more lively 168mm Q-Factor. 

It is braced both laterally and vertically. The one-piece rear triangle is shaped such that the drive- and non-drive sides of the swingarm are bridged, with another bridge running from the chainstays up to the seatstays. This is by no means unusual, but We Are One appear to have used a significant amount of material to achieve this, giving the rear-end a very stiff-looking aesthetic, if such a thing is possible.

The We Are One Arrival is available in three frame sizes; SZ1, SZ2 and SZ3. Reach starts at 450mm, stretching to 500mm on the ZS3; this range is said to cater to riders from 5′ 3″ up to 6′ 4″. The head tube angle sits at 64° paired with a seat tube angle of 77°. Rear-centre length on SZ1 and SZ2 comes in at 437mm, while the SZ3 is 4mm longer at 441mm. The bottom bracket drops 37mm from the 29″ wheel dropouts, delivering a BB height of 338mm.

Pricing & Availability

There are currently two models of the We Are One Arrival available to buy. The more affordable of the two comes in at $9999.69 CAD. That money gets you a Fox Factory 36 for with GRIP 2 damper, Fox Float Factory X2 shock, We Are One Revolution Wheels with the i9 1/1 hubset, SRAM XO1 Eagle drivetrain with 10-52T cassette, Magura MT5 4 piston brakes, SDG Tellis Dropper Post and Vittoria Mazza Tires (2.6″ on the front, 2.4″ on the rear).

The top-end model retails at $12,969.69 CAD. Upgrades on that build include i9 Hydra Hubs, a SRAM AXS XO1 Eagle drivetrain, a RockShox Reverb AXS Dropper Post and Magura MT7 4 Piston brakes equipped with HC3 levers.

We Are One have already allocated 75% of the bikes to their existing dealer network. You can also buy direct, with both build models ready to go in September 2021. We will update this post as and when we get more info from We Are One on frame details and leverage curves., etc.
