Earlier this year, Nicky Hayden was added to a growing list of cyclists taken from us all too soon. Somehow, Nicky’s death seemed to hit even harder as it was hard to believe that a MotoGP World Champion who regularly piloted his motorcycles up to 200mph, was just as vulnerable as you or I on a bicycle. A true legend of two wheels, Hayden leaves quite a legacy – and he continues to give back even after death through the Nicky Hayden Memorial fund. Known as the Kentucky Kid, the NHMF was set up by Nicky’s family in his memory to give back to the children of his home state of Kentucky through the Community Foundation of Louisville.

To honor Nicky and to raise funds for his charity, Road 2 Recovery is hosting a raffle of a very special Specialized S-Works Venge ViAS Disc. The bike was in the process of being built specifically for Nicky and his training needs, but tragically, Nicky never got to throw a leg over it. The 54cm frame features a Special Edition Peter Sagan World Championship paint job along with ’69 Nicky Hayden’ emblazoned on the top tube. Built with the best of the best, this Shimano Dura Ace Di2 R9170 build with Roval CLX 50 carbon wheels with custom graphics would retail for about $10,000. One lucky person will be the eventual winner of the bike, while all proceeds go to the Nicky Hayden Memorial Fund. Entries start at $5 for one ticket, and the winner will be picked on January 06, 2018.

Read RC… It didn’t say he was from Louisville
The paint scheme pops in the Sun light.
