Attendees at today’s MADE show may notice 11 different bikes with a brand new headset from Wolf Tooth Components. Bikes from Mosaic, Scarab, Seeker, Hoff, and Sanitas will also feature WTC’s first internally routed headset, specifically designed for the ENVE IN-Route system.
While maligned by many mechanics, internal headset routing is getting more popular, even on metal bikes with 44mm head tubes. That’s where the new WTC EC44U INT headset comes in. Following the WTC headset formula, this new headset is made in the USA from 6061 aluminum and includes Enduro stainless steel bearings.
Compatible with any frame that uses a 44mm internal headtube and external cups (EC), the headset top cap is specifically designed to interface with the ENVE IN-Route system with either stems or one-piece stem/bars. Wolf Tooth claims that the 15.8mm stack height of the top cap is the shortest of all internal EC headsets for the IN-Route system and one of “the shortest for any internal EC headset for any fully integrated cockpit on the market.” It’s also pretty light at 116g for the full headset.
Available in seven different colors, the headset is available now for the upper and lower set at $219.95.
