Abbey Bike Tools founder Jason Quade isn’t above sweeping the floors in the shop. But if he’s gonna do it, it’s gotta be precise – just like everything else they do.

OK. That’s not the real motivation behind the titanium broom, but it wouldn’t surprise us. In actuality, the story of the titanium broom handle dates all the way back to Jason’s first welding job. At the time, he was building a heat exchanger for a nuclear plant somewhere in Nebraska, which resulted in him becoming the owner of leftover 0.022″ walled titanium tubing.

Naturally, any man would have trouble throwing away perfectly good tubing, so he kept it. And carried that tubing with him from place to place over the past 25 years.

Finally inspired to do something with it, Jason decided his titanium dust pan from King Cage needed a titanium broom counterpart, and the tubing was the right size to use with a standard broom head like the HDX broom from Home Depot. Of course, the end was capped off with the Abbey logo.

Yes, the broom is as light as you would expect. Maybe too light for serious sweeping, but we’d expect a serious reduction in sweeping fatigue. Don’t expect these to go on sale any time soon, unless you also have some 25-year-old leftover titanium tubing from a nuclear power plant to use up.

Precision Bourbon Kit

When the shop is cleaned up, it’s time to break out the refreshments. You could do that in true Abbey style with this over-the-top bourbon kit complete with stainless steel shot glasses.

Those shot glasses just may be the most precise in the world, and are meticulously machined from 316L food-grade stainless steel. They may also be among the heaviest shot glasses in the world, as they are just shy of a pound each – but the knurled finish will make sure you can maintain your grip, rep after rep.

Created solely as a fun project for MADE, you won’t see these kits available for retail any time soon. It’s possible that Abbey may produce them for the holiday season, but there are challenges in sourcing and shipping alcohol that would have to be figured out first. In the meantime, just sit back and appreciate the absurd awesomeness of a 1-lb stainless steel shot glass.
