The Belgian bike company Zannata is one that has mostly slipped under our radar over the years. But walking the pits at a cyclocross World Cup over the weekend, the Zannata Z46 Disc seemed to be one of the more common bikes ridden by the world’s top crossers, although still surpassed by the likes of Ridley, Stevens & Trek. We first saw the custom painted bike of Czech Champion Michael Boroš, but later spotted Italian champ Eva Lechner leading the elite women on one too.
Zannata Z46 EVO Disc Carbon Cyclo X cyclocross race bike
Boroš definitely would have won the contest for the best suffer faces, as he struggled to hold onto the lead group in the hopes of delivering a solid finish in front of his home crowd. But it was his fleet of white, red & blue Zannata Z46 cross bikes that really caught our attention.
Designed in Belgium and produced in a carbon factory in Asia, the Zannata Z46 does have solid cyclocross racing palmarès. While this Zannata wasn’t ridden to a World Cup win this past weekend, Mathieu Van der Poel won his junior Worlds title and Sanne Cant her earlier Belgian titles on the previous canti-equipped Zannata Z46.
