NeilPryde has again partnered with BMW Design USA, this time to create the Bayamo, an aerodynamic bike named after a Hawaiian wind that’s aimed at the time trial and triathlon crowd.
The new TT bike still has a ways to go through development. The ones shown here are plastic prototypes but shown the two models that’ll be coming, one with an integrated steerer/head tube and one without. It will be much further developed through continued wind tunnel testing before production.
The integrated fork/steerer model will get a unique adjustable stem.
Like their Alize and Diablo road bikes, the frames use an array of angles and sharp lines throughout to achieve their aerodynamic goals.
The Bayamo Plus will have hidden brakes and Di2 battery, Higher modulus carbon and the integrated steerer and unique adjustable stem available in different lengths. The cable/wire exit port for the rear derailleur is pretty stealth.
Shooting for an early 2012 launch, MSRP is TBD. There will be a 105 spec’d option all the way up to Di2.
