With the new Ariel, Saracen has been able to simplify it’s product line by merging the best characteristics of it’s 140 and 160mm 26″ bike into one killer package.
Sporting tweener wheels, 150mm of travel, and killer geometry, this bike is intended to be a gravity fighting weapon. The new frame sports a carbon rear triangle and weighs even less than the previous 140mm travel 26″ bike.
More companies need headtube badges this awesome.
The bike will be available in three different kits, the 151 and 152 at £2599 and £3199, and the build-it-your-way frame kit for £1699 (which includes shock, headset, and seat clamp)
All three versions come stock with the enduro oriented Fox Float X. A testament to this bikes burly capabilities.
Previous 26″ Ariel models gave riders a lot of versatility with component selection. Each frame shipped with All Chip-Slot Dropouts that let you swap between 135×9, 135×12, and 142×12 rear ends.
From the images, it looks like Saracen is moving to an exclusive 142×12 dropout system and will also ship with a Shimano Direct Mount Derailleur option.
