Rewel titanium handmade kids dream mountain bikes

We’ve seen some some amazing titanium bikes from Italian builder Rewel before (here and here), but these kids bikes stole the show this year. Shown in 16″ and 20″ wheel sizes, these two rippers would almost certainly retail for more than anything you own.

Both are constructed of titanium, Rewel’s material of choice, and are decked out with Schmolke and DT Swiss carbon parts and top-level SRAM/Avid bits. More pics below, and believe it or not, these are NOT the most over-the-top kid’s bikes we saw!

Even with a booth in one of the seemingly lower trafficked sections, there was a constant crowd around these bikes.

Really wish they’d had a spec sheet on these bikes. Unfortunately I was rushing through the show and didn’t have time for a chat with them.

Road cassette? These kids must be mashers!

Propain is a German brand that started out with a DH bike and has added trail bikes since. It’s not on their website, but this little bomber is just begging your kids to try to keep up at the park.

Portus Cycles Greehorn custom titanium scoot bike with frame building lessons

Portus Cycles’ Greenhorn scoot bike is perhaps the most interesting of all. Not just because it’s a steel bike that only weighs 2.1kg (4.63lb). Not because it took advantage of fellow German brand Tune’s parts bin to build it up. Rather, because you can take their frame building classes to learn how to make your own!

Head guy Alexander Clauss is an official partner of The Bicycle Academy and, starting in 2014, will help run classes where you can build your own Greenhorn. Tune parts will be up to you, but imagine the joy of the first bike you’ve built being the first one your kid(s) will ride. Very cool!

Here’s a little video showing the bike’s build, with the build list at the bottom of the post.

as cool as these are nothing beats a straight up cheaper bmx mini and a little track or dirt time for groms.

I can see bikes like these for a ‘small person’ that requires a custom size, cannot fit a stock bike, but wants performance..

The green-trimmed rim in the last photo looks interesting.
