Donhou XCr Seat Tube Sleeve

For your viewing pleasure — brought to you from the folks who hit 102mph on a bikeDonhou Bicycles fabricates the stuff dreams are made of. More silky welds and pearl paint after the break…

The paint is at the request of a customer who wished to pay tribute to his hero Bernard Hinault. The colors reflect Dutch painter Piet Mondrian whose work, Composition A, inspired the colors and design of Hinault’s team La Vie Claire; all five of Hinault’s Tour winning years have been worked into the design.

All Donhou’s work is done in-house at their Hackney, London shop.

LOOK bikes have always used Mondrian’s work for their branding and I’m just curious as to why given that Look is a French brand and Mondrian was Dutch.. And also as it’s being used again here.. Anybody know?

Hot d*mn. I’ve been drooling over a few xcr frames – firefly, condor, cinelli darkstar… This artsy one will cost mad loot though.

De Stijl…hmmm…. How 1917… square tubing would have been too literal probably.

I don’t remember him going 102mph. I remember him spinning a crank with a large gear, spinning a wheel the equivalent of 102mph while on a stationary roller.

@ Julie – mondrian lived most of his life in France and his art in France before war forced him to NY/London
