PRESS RELEASE: On Saturday, October 10, 2009, the first annual Tour d’Eau Claire bicycle awareness day will take place at Carson Park Pine Pavilion in Eau Claire, WI. The main event will be a messenger race that is about 20 miles long. Locations to be disclosed upon registration. For all those who successfully finish the race with all the checkpoint stamps, they will be entered into a drawing with over $2,000 worth of prizes. The first place winner will receive a special homemade trophy! Other events throughout the day will include: bicycle clinics, FREE youth races, and skid and track standing contests. If you are in need of a new helmet, they will be available for purchase at cost – some as low as $10! Even if you will not be participating in any of the biking events, there will still be things for you to do at Tour d’Eau Claire. Enjoy music playing throughout the pavilion. Eat a delicious brat or a burger grilled outside for maybe the last time this year.
Registration begins at 10:00am. The cost is $10. The messenger race starts at noon.
