Hammerschmidt’s slow leak

Truvativ’s (SRAM) revolution in bicycle transmissions, named HammerSchmidt, has been getting some stellar reviews from the blind-folded, sworn-to-secrecy industry folk that have ridden it, but we’ve not been able to get any hard facts on it.  But, that hasn’t stopped us from making some educated guesses.

First up, this article claiming SRAM’s first-rights-of-refusal on Infinity Transmissions’ compact technology (picture after the break).  But, wait, there’s more.  Next, there’s this German-language article (ad?  teaser?) showing an internal gear system and “SRAM” in the first paragraph (click on the pic to expand).  After that, there’s the Schlumpf internal planetary gear system that’s already in use across the pond (pics after the break).

Finally, there’s a spy shots we’ve managed to secure that shows a Norco bike with HammerSchmidt in what looks like a near production version, shown after the break.
