Yuba had a few models on display for those looking to maximize thier commute and errands on a bike.  Founder Ben Srarrazin explained that Yuba Mundo cargo bikes can handle up to 500lbs on the back…if you can pedal it!  That means you can put two of your lazier friends (and a cooler) on the back and take the party with you.  The green model here has a triple on the front and 8-speed cassette in the rear and retails for $999.  Green glow is optional.  Read “more” to see some options and more pics…

Yuba was founded after Ben visited South America, Europe and Africa.  He saw bikes everywhere, but none that were capable of carrying the things that locals needed.  His goal with Yuba was to create bikes that can improve the socio-economic environment of developing regions that have few transportation options or infrastructure.

A variety of bags and accessories will fit on the side of the built-in racks.  The Mundo’s frame is designed to accommodate riders from 4’7″ tall on up.

The red version shown here is a 6-speed (single front, 6-speed cassette rear) and retails for $929.  It shows off a couple more options, like the wood “desk” and black sidewall to keep splatter, etc., from getting on your cargo.

There’s also a heavy duty kickstand available, important for when you’ve got some larger loads.
