Topeak-Ergon team riders Dave Wiens and Alban Lakata finished 7th in the 2009 TransAlp Challenge.  2008 winners Lukas Buchli and Thomas Stoll (Team BiXS iXS) repeated for the overall win of the 528 km race that saw riders climb 18,808 meters of elevation gain.  The winning finish time was 23:42:28.6 hours.

Dave and Alban had never met prior to the start of the 2009 TransAlp.  They quickly formed a solid bond and worked well together throughout the event.
