A while back we spoke with J.P. Parsons, the V.P. of Marketing for Jackson County, AL, and learned that the county was pushing through a budget for developing some world-class singletrack and destination-worthy mountain bike amenities.

Well, we just got word that the trail building has been approved, and now comes the hard part: building 100+ miles of singletrack.  Parsons asked us to help get the word out that they’re looking for help from IMBA, SORBA and others wanting to use the beautiful blank slate pictured above to grow the base of southeastern singletrack.

Click on any of the thumbnails to enlarge, they highlight the darn near perfect venue for trails, and email Parsons directly if you’re interested in getting involved

What a fantastic idea! I live at Gorham’s Bluff and witness this awesome vista every day! This section of Alabama is one of the best kept secrets of the entire United States. I just forwarded this to one of our sons in North Carolina who is an avid biker. He lives in Asheville and certainly no stranger to nature’s beauty, and even he is totally blown away with the terrain and views from this area of the country. Let’s make this thing happen ASAP and thanks for your efforts!
