INTERBIKE 2009 – We brought along our Park Tools scale so we can get some actual weights on bikes, and one of the first brands to get the full lineup scale treatment was Trek.
We weighed their Large (19.5″) size and weighed the top level of each bike that they brought.  The Top Fuel 9.8, above, had to sub in for the 9.9 SSL since they didn’t have it on hand, but at 24lbs 4oz, it’s nothing to snub your weight weenie nose at.  The Women’s WSD Top Fuel comes in even lighter than that!
Click here to read our full post of the 2010 Trek Top Fuel, Fuel EX and Remedy, or hit ‘more’ to see the rest of the 2010 Trek Mountain bike range’s actual complete bike weights (sans pedals)…
This one is former 4-time Canadian National Downhill Champion Andrew Shandro’s personal bike, a Trek Remedy 9.8 that’s not entirely stock, and this weight is with some flat pedals on it.  30lbs 3oz.
This is how we knew it was his.  That, and one of the Trek guys said we better hope he doesn’t see us messing with his bike.  Fortunately, there’s no proof we ever touched his bike…. Oh, wait…crap.
Aluminum-framed 2010 Trek Fuel EX 9 comes in at 27lbs 2oz.
The women’s Top Fuel 9.8 is a paltry 23lbs 5oz.
Here’s the carbon-framed Fuel EX 9.9 (top of the line).  At 24lbs 13oz, it’s pretty darn light for a 120mm travel bike.
Here’s a stock 2010 Trek Remedy 9.9 (top of the line), tips the scales at 28lbs 3oz with a carbon frame.
Last up is their new Trek Scratch 9 freeride/downhill bike with 170mm travel.  For $5,980, you get 35lbs 7oz of beefy mountain bike.
