INTERBIKE 2009: To celebrate their 10th anniversary of the Mooto X YBB 29er soft tail mountain bike, Moots is offering a special decal package to the first 75 frames purchased in 2010.  Actually, it’s the first 75 ordered after October 1, so get on it.  It’s $3,200 for the special frame with red decals, and you can see close up pics after the break.
Speaking of special things that are red (and blue and black), Moots debuted new anodized colors on their stem faceplates, seat collars and cinch bolt seatposts.  Hit ‘more’ to see them all…
The red “X” symbolizes the 10th year of the YBB 29er.
Goes really well with the white cable housing and white paint-matched SID crown.  The YBB design incorporates a sliding “shock” tube at the top of the seat stays that gives about an inch of rear wheel travel.  For those that are dead set on a hardtail 29er, this at least gives you a bit of compliance over the stuff you just don’t (and shouldn’t) have to stand up for.
Cathy holds the scale for us…23lbs 15oz…built with SRAM XX, Moots’ Ti stem and post, Chris King headset and (I think) hubs.
For those with a bit of spare change, Moots now has colored parts for their stems, seatposts and seat collars.  Available in red, blue and black.  The Ti stems run about $400 and the seatposts average about $300.
A 110mm Open Trail stem weighs 170g, but that’s about the only one they have a weight listed for on their website.  Now, if only they had an “Expense a Moots” website like they do for steaks…
