PRESS RELEASE: Universal Sports’ live coverage of the Milan-San Remo will feature seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong and team Radio Shack. The Milan–San Remo, the opening single-day classic of the cycling season, airs on Universal Sports on Saturday, March 20, at 3 p.m. ET with re-airs at 8 p.m. ET and 1 a.m. ET.
Other notable Americans in the 101st running of the Italian Classic include U.S. National Road Champion George Hincapie of the BMC Racing Team, and Tyler Farrar of Team Garmin-Transitions, considered a contender for the podium. Defending champion Mark Cavendish of HTC-Columbia, a U.S.-based team, will also compete in the race, one of the longest of the year at 298 kilometers (185 miles).
