Here’s how they describe it: “We’ve got a guy, a girl, the biggest Sprinter van money can buy, a trailer, and about 30 of our best bikes all equipped with the finest offerings from the folk listed below. They are going to be traveling the highways of this great land, from dealer to dealer, stopping at trailheads along the way, spreading the gospel of better living through better suspension.”

Check the full Santa Cruz Bicycles demo schedule after the break to see if they’re coming to a trail near you (hint, if you’re on the East Coast, you’re SOL)…

“if you’re on the east coast, you’re SOL”

jeebers, way to tar and feather there, tyler. the schedule is only online through may at this time. the demo tour is running through october. there will be stops in british columbia, then a trip east coinciding with a certain world cup and world championship pair of events.

but yes, the tour is biased toward the western half of the US this first year. that’s because out west have some critical established markets (not to mention our largest markets by a substantial margin) that need to be reinforced, and also because abby and ariel are very familiar with this half of the country. while working to build this schedule, they are also familiarizing themselves with our east coast dealers and figuring out how to put together the 2011 tour, which will have a greater emphasis on points east than the current one.

it is not possible to run the tour across the whole country adequately each year, and we cannot afford another two people, sprinter van, trailer, and 30 or so extra bikes. some compromises will have to be made each year. this year, the first year for us, we decided to shake out the bugs in a more familiar landscape for all concerned. next year, maybe we’ll get to listen to all our local dealers and large markets scream bloody murder while ariel and abby get to frolic in north carolina.
