SEA OTTER CLASSIC 2010 – We posted a quick phone cam photo of this during the event, but here are the big, glorious photos of the new Focus Redskin 29er, including one of it on the scale. Yes, the name could change if their U.S. marketing folk have their way, but the bike is ready to roll (we’ve inquired as to release date…and I’m posting this without the aid of my notes, so I’ll update later).
For now, hit ‘more’ to see all the pics…
As built here, you’re getting SRAM XX, a Focus carbon rigid fork, Mavic Crossmax29 wheels with Schwalbe Racing Ralph tires, a 3T cockpit, FSA headset, Fizik and some nifty little grips with carbon lock-ons. Weight?
20lbs 5oz. (The front wheel is off the ground, too, just hard to tell…I made sure no one cheated when I photo’d the weights)
Check out the carbon lockon grips. Not much padding, but sweet looking.
Judging by the clearance between the fork crown and the top of the tire, you could probably run an 80mm suspension fork without messing up the geometry too badly.
Interesting that they didn’t run the brake mount inside the rear triangle like on their Raven Extreme hardtail.
