Diamondback’s had the Sortie full suspension mountain bike out for a bit, heading up their trail bike department. For 2012, they’ll add a 29er version, shown above pretty much as it’ll be in production. It uses their Knucklebox suspension design with 100mm in the rear and built around 120mm in the front. More pics and info after the break…
The design uses a High Direct Mount front derailleur, which creates the illusion of a slack seat angle, but the reality is about 72.5º to 73º effective.
The design does give the bike a long-ish 18″ chainstay.
Tapered headtube.
The frame must be a bruiser, which is good for tackling pretty much any terrain, since it comes in at 29lbs 15oz even with Easton EA70 wheels and cockpit and full XTR 3×10.
