After parting ways with (now defunct) distributor Veltec back in May, Vredestein were at Interbike this month announcing their partnership with Move Sport and showing some cool-looking 26in and 29er tires beside their well-regarded road racing line.  The mountain tires all look to be available in tube and tubeless-ready configurations and the 26in tires in UST tubeless versions as well- all with triple-compound rubber for an appealing $70 retail.  The Spotted Cat, Black Panther (above), and Black Panther Extreme run from fast to knobby in that order.  Click through for more pictures and details…

Spotted Cat

The Spotted Cat looks like it could make for a mean rear tire here in the desert and the casing seemed pretty generously sized despite being mounted on an Easton road rim.  The Black Panther Extreme takes things in the opposite direction and if the 690g 29×2.2 tubeless ready weight is accurate could be an appealing trail tire.  The tire looks a bit sucked in at the edges, but should fill out a bit on a more sensibly-sized rim.  We’ll add availability as soon as we have it, and look for a review in the coming months…
