For East Coast cyclists, hitting the big tradeshows and outdoor demo events like Interbike, Outerbike and Sea Otter are not only difficult, they’re expensive.
Enter the Southeast Bike Expo. Put together by Brian Malloy at The Hub Bicycles in Athens, GA, and several of our industry friends, the event will bring demo trucks and expos from Trek, Specialized, GT, Niner, Felt, Colnago, Look, and some other small brands, all with bikes to demo and drool over, plus tech personnel to answer all your bike geek questions.
They’ll also have an assortment of component and gear brands showing off their latest goodies. So far, Thomson, Cane Creek, Stan’s Notubes, Yakima, Camelbak, Saris/Cycleops, GoPro, Garmin and Timex are booked, and we hear quite a few more are jumping on board soon. Given the early interest from the industry for a first year event and the easily accessible location, there should be a great turnout.
The event February 25-26th, 2012 on the trails at Conyers, site of the first ever Olympic mountain bike race and a fantastic trail. Saturday night will feature a 3-hour night ride demo where bike light companies will have lights on demo bikes. The event is open to the public, entry is $20 per person for the weekend. Get your ticket at www.bikereg.com/14449 soon, entry is limited to 5,000 people.
