Crankbrothers has a new dream bike up for auction, the Ibis Race Club Tranny. The frame size is small, replicating the bikes of Crankbrothers’ athletes Judy Freeman and Chloe Forsman. Like the Ibis Tranny previously auctioned, this carbon frame breaks into sections for easy packing. Also, it converts between singlespeed and geared. The Tranny has an estimated MSRP of $6,000 and weighs in at 3.1 lbs.
In auctions so far, prices have been low, with final bids coming in far below MSRP. The previous Ibis Tranny auctioned for $3168, with an estimated MSRP of $5,500. This may turn out similar. Proceeds from Crankbrothers auctions go to Wheel4Life, a charity that provides bicycles to people in Third World Countries. The auction ends Sunday, February 26th.
