Boo Cycles had some trick new features on their frames, from hidden cables to massive head tubes to an all new carbon fiber “exogrid” style tube. Their road, cyclocross and mountain bike frames now have a full 1.5″ head tube. The benefit is that you can run any fork you want, whether it’s tapered or straight, thin or fat. For the mountain bike, that means you can run a Lefty with no adapters.
This road bike had Ultegra Di2 along with a very trick internal brake cable run. Because it used an integrated seat mast, the cable could run straight out the back. Designer Nick Frey said he was concerned about the severe bend in the housing coming out the back, but they used segmented cable housing and it felt pretty smooth.
Another change on this bike is a new full carbon seat tube, something also seen on…
…his new carbon fiber grid frame. Besides looking killer, it stiffens things up a bit.
Who needs aero tubes when you’ve got such a sweet looking bike?
You might recognize their cyclocross bikes from our Road to NAHBS post.
Check out the bamboo headset spacers.
Nothing like a carbon fiber and bamboo balance bike for your little ones.
Little details help make their bikes really stand out. The carbon/bamboo handlebar with massive bamboo stem on the commuter was pretty slick.
