Expanding their pro-level Especial line of bags for 2012, Timbuk2 have added a mid-sized Especial Medio and this nicely thought out Especial Messenger.  One of the more adjustable messenger bags we’ve seen, the Especial features a side- and angle-adjustable shoulder strap, a molded back panel to reduce poking from pointy cargo, an internal laptop sleeve, and stealth reflective detailing as shown above.

Jump the curb for more photos, including a slick pannier/tote combination and Timbuk2’s biggest bag ever!

Easy access pockets keep reagularly-accessed items handy.

The $130 Tandem Pannier isn’t new, but it’s still cool.  The saddle-style bags have integrated magnets that snap together when off the bike, resulting in an easy-to-carry tote/shoulder bag.  They’re built of waterproof fabric and have an internal pocket that’ll accommodate most 15in laptops.

Currently being finalized, Timbuk2’s hybrid (reinforced soft) flight case was on display, complete with airline tags.  It looks to have made the journey to Las Vegas without any real signs of wear and the bicycle inside was unharmed as well.  Look for it next year for somewhere in the neighborhood of $430.

I was lucky enough to test the new Especial Messenger , and it is sweet!
The angle adjustment strap is particularly nice, as is the adjustment system.

Also, the “poking reducer” pad actually really helps with ventilation. A less sweaty back was a real nice feature.

Watch out, it’s so reflective it will steal the show if it’s ever in a flash picture with at night!

A great medium size bag (AKA the perfect size for anyone who’s not actually a working messenger)

Really digging these new bags in the Timbuk2 Especial family. Can’t wait to see them roll out in Spring 2013!
