    It’s a steering damper for mountainbikes from Stabletec, called the Dampenator – it had limited success. It assembles right on to your existing headset. The company is from Huntington Beach, California.

    It is a steering damper; it does sound like y’all understand what they do. They prevent high-speed “head shake” (precession), not vibration.

    Useless info: the old school way to reduce head shake (before dampers) was to over tighten the headset a little bit.
