Cygolite Streak 280 Lumen LightFor 2013, Cygolite is upping their game and turning up the lumens across all their models. They’re also introducing two new products to hit lower price points based on popular demand. For instance, the new Streak 280 USB has all the same features as the grown up models, like side light ports and the ability to remember which of the five modes you used last, yet it only runs $50 MSRP. Expected run time out of the 3W LED is between 1:30 ~ 10 hrs on a complete charge.

The other big dish is a new iteration of their popular HotShot taillight…

Cygolite Hotshot SL Tail light

The new Hotshot 2W SL has the same weight and blinding 2W power output but retails for one less Hamilton. The major differences between the lights are battery run time and modes. The $39.99 Hotshot has five different modes and runs up to 500 hours on a single 3 hour charge, while the $29.99 Hotshot SL only has 3 modes and will run up to 200 hours.

Saris , you need to double check on those Hotshot battery run times. I doubt they have increased their battery run times 10X, since mine only lasts 30-50 hours per charge. The new Hotshot is probably much the same as the old Hotshot. The actual light is pretty good although their clamp / hardware is not very good. Eventually I had to glue the clamp and light mount together for a permanent fix.
