Cedric Gracia 917 Mini CG push bike (1)

What do your kid and legend Cedric Gracia have in common? Probably not much, but you can change that with this awesome “pro model” push bike from the team over at Production Privee. Forget all of the crazy carbon push bikes you’ve seen out there, this is the bike your off spring really wants. Well, maybe. It’s the push bike we would want for out little rippers.

The CG graphics and Porsche 917 inspired colors definitely make it a cool bike, but it’s the quality of the components that make the bike nerd in us excited. Find out what it will take to raise the new CG after the jump…

As with most balance bikes, the Mini CG is designed to fit kids starting at 89cm in height and from 2-5 years old. But look at that stem – it’s a real threadless headset and laser etched stem. That means the bike should be able to take a beating and be passed on to the next kid, or the neighbor, or Ebay.

Equipped with actual pneumatic tires and tubes, on quality wheels and hubs, it’s clear this is built for kids who are hard on equipment. Really want to go nuts? If your ripper is ready for a brake, the bike is disc ready with a 6 bolt rear hub and rear brake mount. And yes, that is a bottle opener in the rear dropout. You know, for Cokes…

Better still the bike includes a race plate and sticker sheet. All that’s left is for your little one to learn to ride. Available for pre-order now at 169 Euros, bikes will be delivered starting on December 20th which means this could be a great Christmas present if you act fast. Unfortunately, that may be limited to those in Europe as their website doesn’t list shipping to the U.S. If you really want one, shoot PP an email and they may be able to work something out.

Pssht. I’d never let my 3 year old ride a bike with schrader valves.

Not silly, I’d totally spend that for a rad bike for my boys (if they didn’t already have bikes)

Why no brake option? How is the cable routing done once a brake is installed? Is it hydronic ready?

917 inspired colors? Nope. Those are Gulf Livery colors. The 917 was just one of HUNDREDS of race cars that have used those colors over the years. And if you’re going to say that something was inspired by the 917, it would more likely be based on the butcher-pig pink. A much more iconic 917 paint job not really seen on other cars.

Awesome! No more spendy than a 25 pound kid pedal bike. Those are rarely ridden. I recommend a Strider since they come with two seatposts and your little one can grow on it. Use money saved to upgrade to a micro BMX race frame, which sits them low and transition from balance to pedaling with ease. PS The bottle opener is for mom and dad after their little on starts imitating Cedric.
