Amy D helmet lazer

You don’t have to go far in the bike industry to find someone who was profoundly affected by the loss of Amy Dombroski. A champion bike racer in multiple disciplines, the talented racer tragically passed away while training in Belgium in 2013. Since her death many current cross racers have been riding with stickers on their bikes honoring Amy with proceeds going to the Amy D. Foundation – a non profit organization created in her honor to support young women through cycling.

Lazer was a long time sponsor of Amy’s, and to give back in the way they know best, they have created a special Limited Edition Lazer O2 helmet with all of the proceeds from sales headed to the Amy D. Foundation

Lazer already supported Amy D. Racing which is an elite cyclocross racing program that will started by supporting Erica Zaveta with an elite race sponsorship. But their support continues with the launch of the special edition helmet. Starting with their standard LAzer O2 with Rollsys Retention and an adjustable head basket, the helmet features 24 vents and weights in around 285g. Special Editions of the lid will be offered in in Small (52-56cm) and Medium/Large (55-61cm) with a suggested retail of $110.

Available exclusively in the USA, the helmet will be distributed through QBP and proceeds will be donated to the Amy D. Foundation at Interbike 2015. Lazer invites U.S. dealers that want to make an additional contribution to the foundation to contact Lazer directly, and all funds raised through the effort will be delivered at Interbike.

  1. The strength of the cycling community brings positivity to such a tragedy. Why more isn’t done by governments to prevent road deaths of cyclists is shameful. Nobody should be killed enjoying the sport of cycling or more importantly the joy of riding a bike.
