Back in 1963, Italian leather craftsman Sante Mazzarolo made his first pair of boots which quickly became a hit with riders in a newly burgeoning sport called motocross. Building upon this early momentum Mazzarolo expanded his product line and gradually grew Alpinestars into the brand they are today. Now based in Torrance, CA, Alpinestars manufactures athletic clothing for nearly every motorsport, plus casual clothing, luggage and of course cycling gear.
Alpinestars’ 2015 cycling collection includes a large selection of soft and hard protection, gloves, backpacks, complete lines of clothing specific for enduro, all-mountain/trail, freeride, DH/BMX, plus Tech Tees and outerwear.

The new Milestone soft shell jacket is a lightweight fleece-lined, windproof jacket. Its three-layer membrane construction, water resistant zippers, armpit vents and removable storm hood make it a versatile garment that should keep you comfortable and well protected in a range of weather conditions.
The Descender is a windproof, water resistant shell that is available as a jacket or a vest. It features a breathable 2.5 layer rip-stop shell with a vent on the back, waterproof zippers on the pockets, reflective details and a micro-fleece collar for comfort.
The Evolution jacket and shorts are ideal for those who just can’t resist pushing the limits on their DH bikes. The short sleeved jacket features breathable padding on a lightweight mesh body, and is designed to fit under a jersey and integrate nicely with Alpinestars’ Bionic Neck Support brace. The CE-certified spine protector is removable, and the jacket can accommodate a hydration pack. The Evolution shorts feature a built in chamois and compression mesh construction, intended to increase blood flow and reduce muscle fatigue.
The Performance glove is Alpinestars’ first model to offer hard knuckle protection. The glove incorporates leather and synthetic suede for durability, and the first two fingertips are silicone-printed for grip. The Velocity glove features lightweight 3D mesh construction for comfort and ventilation, but still provides protection with light padding in the palm, finger backs and knuckles.
The Blaze 2 and Hex Tech Tees are a great idea for riders who prefer a casual look, but still want the breathability and quick-drying action of a jersey or base layer. Or, if you’re just heading over to the local dirt jumps or pumptrack, you can ride in comfort without breaking out your flashy racing outfit.
