fox DHX2 coil shock features dual high and low speed external adjustments for compression and rebound

Spotted on Greg Minnaar’s Instagram feed, this highly polished looking version of the upcoming Fox DHX2 coil shock suggests its well on its way to being final. It’s also showing a very cool orange color for the spring, which should match up nicely with their heritage graphics (and hopefully be available in a more muted tone, too).

Previously, we’d spotted more subdued prototypes that provided clues as to what the new shock will do. The two chambers at the top are the damping circuits, one each for rebound and compression. Inside, it’s likely there are separate circuits for both high and low speed, and independent adjustments for each a la Cane Creek Double Barrel are on the ends facing away from us in this pic.

We’ve reached out to Fox for comment and to see if there’s an official launch planned for Crankworx Rotorua, which starts March 25, or if we’ll have to wait for Sea Otter or beyond. Updates as we get them.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I will stick with my double barrel.

Looks like the shock shafts have Kashima marketing sauce on the them as well.

@hellbelly right, because you were in the market for a downhill coil shock for your trail bike to begin with?

@Padrote

You are aware they make a coil double barrel right? And that it came before the air version? And that it (along with the air shock) were intended for DH bikes?

Frame clearance could be an issue with the offset reservoir. Is the orange spring a response to Ohlins yellow?

Eric…… You stole my thought.
