Tennessee based titanium bicycle fabricator Litespeed could be playing in the fat bike garden with their new Nome.

It’ll have 190mm rear spacing built around replaceable dropouts and ship with singlespeed dropouts. Standard dropouts with derailleur hanger for QR or thru axles will be available separately. This one’s a prototype to gauge interest, primarily among international distributors. They say the U.S. has demand, but Hong Kong and the Phillipines are blowing up.

Probably be around $2,600 to $2,700 for the frame. Frame is 3/2.5 titanium, and they’re handmade in Ooltewah, TN. Look for them to start shipping later this summer.

More pics and updates to their gravel bike after the page break.

The Litespeed T5 gravel bike was introduced at Interbike last year and is already getting a few updates.

The biggest news is the addition of their own carbon fork with 15mm thru axle. It has a molded carbon crown race, so no need to add one, and tapered steerer tube and internal brake hose routing. Weight is 470grams, and retail is $390.

The bike at Outdoor Demo had a mechanical group. This one shows off the sleek Di2 integration.

“singlespeed sliding dropouts”: The picture shows a sliding track end – it faces backwards. Dropouts face down or forwards, so they allow you to simply drop the wheel out, without any fiddling with the chain. Hence: “dropout”.

Otherwise, nice bike 🙂

Holy chainstay length on the fat bike.

“Molded carbon crown race”? So which headset are we stuck using? Cane Creek?
They make great headsets, but I like options. Seems like a random “feature”

when the crown race wears out do they replace the fork for free?

I cannot wait for this Fatbike fad to go away.

Matt, you’ll be waiting a long time.

Agreed @ Gunnstein

@Gunnstein I really enjoy it when internet pendants like you are wrong, and obviously so. Look at the detail picture of the dropout, it obviously doesn’t open backwards.

Also, there isn’t a single person on earth other that cares about your explanation of the difference between a track end and a dropout anyway.

@i It’s spelled “pedants”, not “pendants” 😉

And yes, it opens backwards, as far as can be seen in the picture. It just looks confusing because there’s a big chaintug there.

Apparently I’m not quite alone in my pedantry, Drew agrees above.

I wouldn’t sweat the dropouts too badly though – notice that the axle-clamp-plate-of-whatever-name is bolted to the frame. It could be replaced with something else in the future.

I’m with you, Bobby, those chainstays remind me of the $199 fatbikes at Walmart.

Litespeed clearly isn’t the same company that brought us drool-worthy bikes like the Ultimate back in the 90’s.

@Gunnstein, I bet he means “pundits” and I care, track end vs dropout… two different things.

@matt, I give it about 2 more years and everyone will be over it.

I love those dropouts on the fat bike! But what am I supposed to call the 15mm axle holes on the fork?

Just got my T5G a few days ago. Sadly to say I thought this would be the perfect bike. Not so. Big issue with “Toe Overlap” and no rack eyelets. Beautiful bike, but the Toe Overlap will be an issue for riding turning sharp on gravel roads. I am 5’8″ with a size 43 shoe. Riding a small frame. I have severe toe overlap.

Very nice hand made bikes!

Surprised to hear it has no eyelets for a rear rack. Everywhere I read said it was possible?
