Celebrating their ten year collaborative anniversary (a milestone that will surely leave some members of the urban cycling community feeling aged), Cinelli and San Francisco-based team/brand/store, MASH, are releasing a dressed-up Parallax frameset with ludicrous graphics. Also on tap is the updated XCr and the new Nemo TIG road frameset, both handmade in Italy (in custom geometry, if you’re into it). Get to the goods after the jump…
The Parallax frameset was developed in collaboration with MASH SF to be a stiff, spry race machine for urban racing with super steep head tube and seat tube angles, a short fork rake (28mm), and lightweight Columbus Airplane oversized 7000 series aluminum tubing. The model was tested for a year in the some of the fastest street races and urban criteriums in the world, and has been crushing in those formats since its release to the public.
The 10-Year Parallax frameset is available in two colorways, both developed by Garrett Chow, iconic MASH SF designer. Cyanotype, seen here, will be available worldwide through your typical Cinelli channels in early December. The super special black and gold version, not seen here, is available in an extremely limited release of 100 framesets and is only available through the MASH SF store (if any are left at the time of posting). The frameset will be available at $1000 MSRP.
If you opt for the Cyanotype scheme, Cinelli has handlebar tape made to match, an accessory that feels like it should be mandatory.
Next up is the updated XCr. Regarded as the “jewel” of the Cinelli line, the XCr is handmade in Italy from Columbus seamless and stainless HINOX Tubing, the world’s only biphasic bicycle tubing, which boasts a greater stiffness to weight ratio of either titanium or aluminum bicycle tubing alloys. Available stateside as a frameset, late adopters to the model will enjoy a new 44mm reinforced headtube and tapered steerer with a Columbus FEL monocoque carbon fork. And if you need something special, the model continues to be available in custom geometries. The XCr can be yours as a frameset for $4700 MSRP.
Lastly, we got to get up close to the Nemo TIG. Featuring oversized, triple-butted Columbus Spirit tubing and primarily TIG construction, the frame is designed to be a lightweight steel road machine (Cinelli claims a frame weight of 1800g). There is a partial lug called the “Nemo Sleeve” whose role is to help address stresses that plague thin-walled steel tubing in the seat cluster area. Routing is entirely external for easy maintenance with barrel adjusters clocked to the bottom of the downtube for adjustments on the fly.
The Nemo TIG road race frameset will be come stock in Purple Haze (not seen) though it will be available in five colorways, total, including Yellow Moon, Silver Bullet, Black Dog, and Cherry Bomb. Those stateside will be able to get the Nemo TIG as a frame with a Cinelli FEL carbon monocoque taper steered fork for $2750 MSRP. There will be no upcharge for custom geometry or the expanded color pallet, so you can afford to be particular.
