Tired of the same old views from your POV cam? Want to see more of the sights surrounding your ride? The 360Fly tosses out something completely different by doubling the standard “field of view” of standard POV cam’s, incorporating an accelerometer to control the lens’ direction, and allowing you to swipe the video around on your phone while viewing it.

As exciting as watching a video of you or your friend’s ride is, nothing captures the true visual experience as from that of the rider. The surroundings near&far, drop offs to the sides, and the treeline above – most of this gets lost, disabling the audience’s ability to gain the depth of the rider’s experience. 360Fly took some of the newer technology of 360° lenses, added it to current POV camera tech and came out with a POV camera that fills in some of those gaps. We’ve seen some pretty crazy stuff using 360° video, and now it’s in a anothert compact form. 360Fly can be viewed on any screen with a sort of moving “fish-eye” effect and was designed to work seamlessly with Virtual Reality viewers like Google Cardboard and others (if you’ve experienced this, it’s hard to deny how cool it is). Though still not as exciting to be the rider, watching an action video from this wider perspective could be a little more entertaining.
The 360Fly, like many other POVs, is water-resistant & dust proof, you can mount it to just about anything in about every condition imaginable, and it’s designed to take a beating. Being a 61mm sphere it can be aimed in any direction including upside down for those using drones, (but I imagine an upside down viewpoint would be pretty rad from several perspectives with this thing). The camera has a built in accelerometer sensor for camera orientation, microphone, and a single operating button for powering on/off and recording stop/start. The unit has 32GB of built in storage, Bluetooth Smart & WiFi connectivity, and offers a massive 240° field of view. The camera has a 2 hour run time and weighs 138g (tilt mount 30.6g), and retails for $399.
