Depending on how you look at it, the TyREEBdonkadonk is either an exercise in excess – or perfection. Not content with simply building a fat bike capable of running the biggest, baddest tires available, REEB has upped the cool factor with titanium, suspension, a dropper post, and oh, a Pinion gearbox with Gates Carbon Drive. Whether this is the future of expedition type fat bikes or not remains to be seen, but we’re willing to bet this is a guaranteed blast to ride…

Not only was REEB one of the first companies to build a fat bike around the Vee Tire Co. Snowshoe 2XL fat bike tire, they are now also one of, if not the first to build a gearbox bike that will clear the 2XLs as well. In order to clear the 5.05″ wide tires on 100mm rims, the TyREEBdonkadonk needed a custom chainstay yoke that was turned out by Chris Sulfrian in house at the Reeb Fabrication shop. Otherwise, many of the small frame parts including the titanium Pinion bridge come from Paragon Machine Works. As with almost all REEBs, the TyREEBdonkadonk utilizes a Gates carbon belt drive to put power to the rear wheel from the Pinion P1.12 gearbox.

Thanks to some beautiful melting of titanium tubes, the frame-only comes in at an impressive 4.6 lbs (2.09kg). Add in a Lauf Carbonara 60mm travel fork, HED BFD 100mm carbon rims Industry Nine hubs, and the rest of the parts and you’re looking at just 32 lbs(14.51kg) which for a bike with huge tires, a gear box, a dropper post, and minimal carbon isn’t bad.

Topped off with Deviant Dale’s IPA inspired graphics and a matte finish courtesy of a glass bead blast, you’re not going to see many fat bikes like it.

This is one of those “if you need to ask the price, you can’t afford” bikes. Cool stuff.

Interesting, a few other manufacturers have said in the past that Pinion didn’t want to make the extremely wide Q-factor cranks needed for (very) fat bikes. That was last year though, so it seems Pinion have now changed their minds.

11ants TarANTula is €5900 / $6400 (with a rigid fork) and that “only” takes 4.0 inch tires. http://www.11antsbikes.com/bikesparts/tarantula/

So this will probably be more, depending on specific parts and finishing.

I inquired about purchasing their original from NAHBS, earlier this year. That one was $6100 for a large.

Oh, and that was with a BLUTO, not the LAUF.

Nevermind that in the pictures the bike is wearing Schwalbe tires, not Vee.

That bike was built for my friend and I got a chance to ride it on some trails the other day. Wow!!! They built one bad ass Fatbike. Just amazing craftsman ship, quality, and performance. Well done Reeb!

Well done, Reeb. You’ve put into motion the exact kind of crazy I’m looking for.

It looks like the frame could handle the vee’s (which as pointed out are not on there), but that fork CANNOT run the new Vee XXL. FYI
