Photo submitted by Bill Winslow, “This was taken on a foggy Saturday morning while JRA. I ended up riding through Northerly Island in Chicago (formerly Meigs Field, it was an airport). I brazed the frame/fork and built the wheels. Drive train is SUNXCD 8Speed running on PhilWood hubs and Velo Orange PBP/RAID rims, Panaracer tires.”

The weather looks very mild… Is not meant to be snowing/frozen? When is this picture taken?

That doesn’t look like Northerly Island in downtown Chicago to me. Too many hills and trees. Was it a mis-labeled photo or have I been away from Chicago too long?

That might be a northerly island, but not in Chicago. Nice ride however, or wherever it may be!

Indeed it is Northerly Island and was just reopened to the public (back in August/September) after a year or so of renovation. This picture was taken December 12th where temperatures approached 60 degrees! (http://ridewithgps.com/trips/7306334) Thanks for the kind words everyone.

To all people doubting this is northerly island in chicago, it likely is.
