Scott has revamped their fast Addict Gravel bike with a new version that is lighter, faster, comfier, and more capable with room for much bigger tires. It’ll now fit 57mm / 2.25″ tires! This new Addict Gravel is still a gravel race bike, but tweaked in several ways to make it much more comfortable, so you can ride fast, longer.
2026 Scott Addict Gravel bike boosts comfort to go fast

Scott’s focus on improving comfort could seem a bit out of place on a race bike. But it’s literally the same story they had for last year’s Addict road race bike, too. In fact, the side profile of this new Addict Gravel bike looks nearly identical to Scott’s latest road race bike. And much less like either the previous generation Addict Gravel, or even the 32″ prototype Robin Gemperle raced to win Unbound XL this summer.

Essentially, it boils down to a few key points. Aero optimization can only take you so far. Plus, many aero-focused bikes have started to all look exactly the same. Premium carbon manufacturing is making all bikes lighter – this HMX frame is as light as 794g. But absolute light weight doesn’t make a bike magically better. But ultimately – especially for riding and racing over rough gravel surfaces – stable handling, reliable grip/control, and comfort seem to be what most gravel riders actually need.
Scott calls this: “A gravel bike designed for the way you really ride.”
So, what’s new?
Bigger 57mm tire clearance & tweaked geometry

Let’s start with the bigger tires. The gravel racing trend has quickly pushed for clearance for 700 x 55 gravel and 29 x 2.25″ fast XC MTB tires. As wide tires got lighter and faster-rolling, it became clear that bigger was an advantage for getting faster and staying comfortable longer. Plus, when races get muddy, you can dial back to still-big 45 or 55mm tires with extra mud clearance.
Bigger tires also necessitated a geometry shake-up, though. Scott even added two more sizes in this generation – now 7 (XXS-XXL).

First, they increased bottom bracket drop to keep rider weight low, as the bigger tires lifted everything up. And tweaked fork offset to “preserve playful and reactive handling”.
Then, Scott lengthened frame Reach 10mm to make more room in the front end to fit the bigger tires. But shortened cockpit (virtual stem) lengths to keep the rider in the same position. They also raised frame Stack figures 10mm too, effectively removing one of the spacers above your headset, because almost all gravel riders benefit from a more upright riding position.
They still managed to keep chainstay length short at the same 425mm, though. That was mostly by making the chainstays super thin, “down to 8.5mm at the slimmest section“.
Improved frame & component compliance

Now with bigger tires and updated geo, the bike was moving towards more comfort already. Then, Scott dove in on frame and component compliance.
Reducing seattube depth below the seatstays, thinning the toptube slightly toward the back, and engineering thinner bowed seatstays that can flex outwards. That together improved rear-end comfort by 25% compared to the previous Addict Gravel. Add in the same new D-shaped ‘comfort’ seatpost from the Addict road bike, and Scott claims “rear compliance has been improved by 60%“. Scott also slightly decreased overall frame stiffness by 5% to not only boost comfort, but to also improve gravel road traction.

Bowed-out legs and a new proprietary thinner “27.2mm eccentric” tapered carbon steerer tube increase compliance in the fork by 30%, as well. That “improves vibration damping at the front, where it matters most” for gravel riding, according to Scott.
Plus, there’s an all-new 1-piece carbon Syncros gravel-specific cockpit that should boost comfort, too. Shorter reach in the drops makes changing positions easier. Forward sweep to the tops for better wrist clearance in those drops. Better shifter mounting are keeps levers aligned with the drops while allowing for control-boosting flare, at the same time.
Overall
“The Addict Gravel is made for adventures that don’t stop at the horizon. Built with comfort at its core, it keeps you strong and steady as the miles stretch on and the terrain changes beneath you.”
Lighter, too!

Not only is there room for bigger tires, and more rider-focused comfort, the new carbon Addict Gravel frames are lighter too.
The top-spec bike builds feature a new HMX carbon frame that weighs just 794g. A weight saving of 75g from the previous generation. The more affordable HMF frame is also now under the one-kilo barrier, at 990g. And complete bike builds range from 8.7kg for the most affordable spec, down to just 7.8kg for the most expensive model.
Storage additions

Beyond all of those changes, Scott also gives the updated Addict Gravel new internal frame storage inside the downtube, but not accessed through a regular glovebox-style door under your water bottles. Instead, there’s an opening in front of the bottom bracket under the frame, which I thought was a downtube protector when I first noticed it. There, you’ll find a small ‘Save The Day’ kit bag for pair of tubes, levers & a mini-pump, which Scott assures is ‘rattle-free’. For your quicker repairs, though, they also tucked a T25 mini-tool in one bar end (that can make all the regular adjustments to the bike & its components)and a tubeless repair needle in the other.

The new bike gets low-profile mounts inside the front triangle for a tidy mini frame bag, in addition to two standard bottle cage mounts and direct toptube bag mounts. Even though you can’t see them from the outside, the new Addict Gravel fork also gets cage mounts hidden inside the fork legs. You need to use Scott’s brackets to make it work, but then you can mount a couple of cages that point back away from the legs, keeping your extra bottles tucked in, and their added weight closer to the steering axis for less impact on the bike’s handling.
