Starting in mid-September, Pivot Cycles started teasing that something new was coming. That initial post didn’t include any photos, but it gave away quite a bit with the words “New roads are ahead” and a link to a new page on the brand’s website: pivotcycles.com/road. Earlier today, Pivot followed up with another teaser on its social media channels, including images of its first-ever road bike.
First of all, it’s abundantly clear that Pivot is about to launch a road bike. Historically, Pivot Cycles has specialized in producing mountain bikes of all kinds, along with the Vault gravel bike as its dedicated drop-bar model (unless you count the LES SL Hardtail Drop Bar build). Regardless, the brand has focused on bikes made for riding trails and gravel roads, basically any surfaces other than pavement.
Well, that’s clearly about to change with the upcoming debut of Pivot’s first road bike. On the Pivot website’s new road page, they’re calling it the Pravia, “a race bike built for humans.” According to Pivot, “The Pravia brings the performance demands of the World Tour to your Tuesday night breakaway, the in-town Strava segment, the climb you’ve been chasing all summer or that rare day when the legs are there, the road opens up, and you decide not to back off.”
Beyond that, there’s essentially just one head-on image of the new bike, which doesn’t reveal too much about it. It’s obviously purple, the frame is made from carbon fiber, it appears to have fairly generous tire clearance, an integrated bar/stem, and through-headset cable routing. We also know that it’s coming soon, with the big reveal scheduled for 11/03/2026.
