Ryan

A jump is a jump is a jump….. is probably what goes through Ryan’s head when he’s on two wheels and heading towards a sloped dirt… or cement wall. Having won several medals in both BMX dirt & park competitions, Nyquist has never been considered a one-trick pony, and has decided to show the world he has one more trick up his sleeve.

Check out what Ryan had to say plus a couple of videos of him showing us why MTB is a great next step….

Medals at Dew Tour, X-Games, Red Bull, and many many more, Nyquist has seen a million faces and rocked them all. Having been a legend for some time in the BMX world, at 37, Ryan hasn’t come close to slowing down. In 2014 he cinched the Redbull Dreamline *huge* dirt jump competition, took a couple of seconds at the Dew Tour that same year and had a respectable 5th at the Austin X-Games in 2015. In 2015, Ryan started showing up to some mountain bike jump competitions and this year he is dueling it up by adding a set schedule of of them to his BMX schedule. Because of the similarities, (and that he’s not so bad to begin with), Ryan feels like this would be great fit and a terrific challenge.

Ryan had this to say:

“I’ve been riding and competing in BMX for over 20 years and I still love it just as much today and I did when I started.” said Ryan. “But for me, riding has always been about pushing myself to achieve new goals, and MTB is another way to challenge myself and progress my riding.”

Ryan has been competing in X-Games since he was 18 and has been with Haro for 20 years now. To still be at this level and still progressing is merit for legend status, and we wish him and Haro bikes a rad 2016!

If there was ever any question as to whether this addition was a good idea, this short edit speaks volumes.

Man that vid gave me chills. Just like when I was 14 yr old and a park rat seeing him ride back in the 90’s. It’s like Playing Dave Mirra bmx on my playstation, all those “video game tricks” being done in real life. Great to see that he’s still doing DJ after all these years. His style is timeless, really the last of that freestyle big trick breed. Way to go Ryan you’re still an inspiration!
