In the words of Specialized’s rep as he introduced their new Adventure Dispatch video series to us, “we all have desk jobs that leave us sitting in our offices for far too long while dreaming of being outdoors even more than we already are.”
Too true. These posts don’t write themselves despite what some commenters might believe. (insert winking smiley face emoticon here) And the bikes don’t design, manufacture and market themselves either. So, for all of you who boost our site traffic during work hours dreaming of riding, here’s the first of the new series from Specialized. Enjoy, and then find an excuse to duck out early…
PRESS RELEASE: We’re excited to announce The Adventure Dispatch documentary series featuring the newly-appointed Specialized Adventure team. Composed of four of the most genuinely talented and inspiring people to ever throw a leg over a bike: Ty Hathaway, Sarah Swallow, Steve Fassbinder, and Benedict Wheeler (aka Ultraromance).
The Adventure team has assembled to share their unique two-wheeled perspectives and passions, while also breaking down the barriers to getting outdoors. A lot of folks are getting into touring and adventure riding but there are still lots more who are interested but may not posses the knowledge of what to bring, what to leave behind, how to carry heavy loads most effectively, etc. Over the next few months the team will be releasing short documentary films dedicated to each athlete, as well as how-to videos to teach riders what they need to know, from fixing flats to choosing routes through the wild.
