Just over the weekend Evoc gave us a sneak peek of their upcoming Hip Pack Race that aims to take light weight and compact trail hauling to the extreme. But they’ve also just released a new light traditional backpack for all-day cross-country racing. The new CC 3l Race pack was developed specifically to take on the eight long hot days in the saddle of the Cape Epic with their first year fielding a duo team for the event. As a result the hydration pack is built for endurance comfort with a wide and light hip belt and wide set of shoulder straps, but kept to a bare minimum with its slim construction…

For long marathon and endurance riding it’s still key to be prepared, so inside the CC 3l gets plenty of storage (3 liters of internal volume), plus easy to access pockets on the hip wings and one on the right shoulder strap. Inside the pack includes a 2l Hydrapak bladder, and a small separate tool pocket. Then on the back of the pack it includes a small outside zip pocket and adds two overlapping mesh and nylon slip pockets that let you expand its storage and stuff in a few extra layers for when the weather changes

The CC 3l uses Evoc’s shaped Air Tune mesh padded back, the lightest version they offer, that combines sewn-in venting channels with perforated foam shoulder straps. It also includes an adjustable height sternum strap that incorporates and emergency whistle. At a claimed weight of just 530g the 90€ backpack comes in the yellowish Sulfur or more standard Red variants and is available now.
