The 560G titanium folding lock is named for its weight, just 560 grams, yet it’ll hold up to 4′ bolt cutters, freezing, chiseling and hammering with the best of ’em.

Designed by two former Lehigh University students, the 560G uses Grade 5 titanium with intricate rolling links to secure your bike, yet closes and locks with a simple click of a button. The design makes it easy to portage and easy to use, getting you off the bike and on your way far faster than anything requiring a key for closure. Check out the video and closeup images below…

The design is finalized and all manufacturing partners are in place, they’re just raising money on Kickstarter to place the large order necessary to get a proper production run. A pledge of $150 gets you an early bird deal, after which prices start climbing to $170, then $200. Score two for $300, or seven for $750. Each includes a belt loop holster and two keys.

The joints use a marine-grade stainless steel pin that is protected by a titanium shield, which then has a free-floating shield of it’s own that’ll simply spin if you tried to cut or smash it. It’s a patent pending design that also adds enough girth to the joint that it makes it difficult for bolt cutters to gain purchase – they’re more likely to just slide off than start cutting anything. Lastly, it’s designed to be heat- and freeze-proof, too.

May be hard to get the leverage to snap it as it will be moving all over the place.
As for marine grade??? Isn’t that 316. Why don’t they just say that.

Because you are protecting the value of the ride home not the value of the bike.

Or just get a cheap bike for commuting that costs as much or less than a lock itself…

Why do I want to be constantly replacing any bike, even if it’s cheap? I’d rather pay for a nice lock than deal with stolen bikes.

IF all of these fancy new locks want to prove themselves, they should send them to 3rd parties and see if they can break them. I’m never gonna spend that much money on a lock that’s only been tested by it’s designer.

Might be more difficult with some positions but put some leverage with a pipe and it’s gone.
That’s how it is works where i live 🙁

So you come back to your bike to find it stripped or smashed by a pissed off would be thief, but still there. Big win. Nice lock, beautifully designed and made, but no matter how nice it is it still can’t beat NOT parking a GOOD bike in a BAD place. I’m gonna stick with my cheaper lock and better location approach. It’s been working for me for years.

Agree. After having 2 bikes stolen from the bike locker in my condo building, I stopped leaving the bike anywhere out of my condo or out of my sight. If I took it anywhere in the city, it either came in the store/restaurant with me or it was locked up where I could physically see it the entire time. If I had to commute, my bike would be sitting in my office next to me.

Call me crazy but security may not be the place to be a weight weenie. Not into it.

Bikes are expensive. Time for someone to do a bike alarm. Oh wait. There’s already a bunch of failed Kickstarter campaigns and people waiting on 2yr overdue, next, greatest bike lock with alarm from Kickstarter.

Just kick me.

I guess none of those people have ever used a chisel in anger.
