Starting at Crankworx and progressing through Interbike, Norco had a lot to show. Feeding off the influx of plus size additions, Norco has expanded their mid-fat line up to include hard tails, full suspension, and even kids’ bikes. As if that wasn’t enough, they’ve also started to tease a new enduro platform that sounds like it could be big in different ways…

First shown at Eurobike, the Norco Torrent FS+ builds in clearance for 27.5 x 2.8″ tires on 39.5mm rims in their 130mm travel ART suspension frame (140mm front). The frame includes Boost spacing, stealth dropper and external cable routing, a threaded BSA bottom bracket and ISCG 05 tabs.

Offered in two builds and four sizes, the Torrent FS+ will be priced at $2499 for the A7.2 build or $3599 for the A7.1 build shown above, with a frame kit (frame and DVO Topaz Air shock) will sell for $1399. Available in January.

With slightly less travel at 120mm rear/130mm front, the Fluid also gets the plus treatment with 27.5 x 2.8″ tires and 35mm rims.

Spec’ed with many of the same features as the Torrent, the Fluid 7+ is slightly more affordable with the 7.2+ starting at $1799 and the 7.1+ selling for $2149.

The Fluid+ is also available in hardtail form with an interesting wheel and tire spec. Medium and larger frames will include 27.5 x 2.8″ tires though the XS and S frames will be built around the smaller 26+ wheels and tires. The frame also uses the Boost QR 141mm spacing which allows Boost hubs to be used with the QR end caps.

The naming structure of the Fluid+ gets a little convoluted with the different wheel sizes, but the bikes with 26+ wheels will be the 6 series while the 27+ bikes will be 7 series. So pricing starts with the 7.3/6.3+ at $899, then it’s the 7.2/6.2+ at $1249, followed by the 7.1/6.1+ at $1699.

Also coming for 2017 (but available much sooner) is a gold accented Revolver XC full suspension race bike. The frame gets subdued, almost faded gold paint highlights to go with the new SRAM Eagle XX1 build option.

Adults aren’t the only ones who get to have fun on new plus bikes – the kids get in on the mid-fat action too.  Soon, kids will be rolling on both 20 and 24″ x 2.6″ tires with frames and components built to match. Built with 1x drivetrains with actual narrow-wide chainrings, the fork on the 24″ even includes a thru axle and both bikes stop with disc brakes. Pricing is set at $519 for the 2.3+ and $599 for the 4.3+.

Those join their existing line of kids full suspension bikes in a range of three tire sizes. They’ve also got drop bar kids road bikes.

Now if only they had the slightest bit of interest in North American distribution.

My kids!! Perfect for them to race xc in the local races and then trail ride with me.
20″ is too small and 26″ is a tad large. 8 years old and ready to rip.
