Jerónimo Cycles out of the Canary Islands are back with a couple of new European-made titanium bikes on offer, ready to take you on an adventure. Whether you want to explore the scenic route on all the gravel and dirt roads you can find, or you want to venture afield, they’ve got you covered in silvery ti goodness. The naming of the alt-drivetrain bikes is pretty self explanatory. The Ti MTB Pinion is the latest evolution of Jeronimo’s mountain bikes, now combining 275+ tires with a Pinion gearbox and enough braze-ons to get you wherever you need to go. The Ti Gravel Rohloff is just that, built as an all-road explorer, it includes room for fat enough rubber to roll any road surface, plus the gold standard for internally geared hubs and a Gebla Rohbox to control it to head out on tour. Get a closer look at both bikes and their details after the jump…

The Ti MTB Pinion probably the latest bike in Jeronimo’s line-up. An evolution of their first 27.5+ trail hardtails, this most recent iteration of the bike gets built around Pinion’s newest P1.18 18 speed gearbox transmission. That reworking along with a Gates belt drive to create a bike that is fun to ride on your home trails, but equally capable of taking on some true backcountry bike packing exploration far from replacement chains and derailleur hangers.

Starting with plus-sized 27.5″ wheels, the new bike can also be setup with 29″ wheels for more of an XC feel. To get that wheel & adventure versatility the bike uses the latest forged Pinion mount that allows for wide-set chainstays, and the new Paragon Machine Works Ti Flanged Toggle dropouts. That gives the bike mounts for a rear rack, and also combines with three bottle cage mounts, plus additional hard point to mount a frame bag.

The bike also gets internal gear routing, with external hydro brake guides. It also adds routing for a stealth dropper seatpost. The frame with the gearbox alone sells for 3400€, with some high spec complete bikes from 5700€.

And if the Pinion isn’t your deal, Jeronimo offers pretty much the same bike with a set of hooded dropouts for a more traditional geared build (and a lower price.)

Ti Gravel Rohloff

Jeronimo’s Ti Gravel Rohloff is a road bike to answer the latest trends of gravel racing and adventure touring. Built as a ‘cross bike, but more a cross bike between road racing and off-road touring that proper cyclocross, it gets a road like geometry with clearance for big tires and even more comfort built in.

Comfort comes by way of a taller headtube for a bit more upright position, and of course from the curved split toptube design flowing down into the seatstays. This design eats up vibration before they make their way to the saddle, and works together with the seattube that is effectively pinned to the toptubes/stays allowing it to flex more as well.

To give it true touring cred, Jeronimo build this bike up around a 14 speed Rohloff internally geared hub for worry-free mileage. They then pair it up with a Gebla Rohbox so you can control the hub’s shifting easily from a regular set of mechanical SRAM shifters. In keeping with the low-maintenance and easy to keep running no matter where you are in the world vibe, the bike forgoes hydraulic braking in lien if the simpler and more affordable BB7 calipers. This particular bike sticks with a chain, again for access to spare parts, but a Gates belt drive option is also possible. Pricing for the complete bike starts at 6000€

Besides these new bikes, we’ve also gotten word that Jerónimo has a new bilingual website in the works. From the start of 2017, all of the new bikes will be updated on the website that offers information in both Spanish & English. That will certainly make it much easier for the majority of our readers who will no longer have to resort to google translating the site in the hunt for a ti bike built in Europe.

Any idea on the weight of the Ti Pinion MTB? It is freaking sweet.

That was my same question. It hurts to be a weightweeny while reading articles without weights. Torture.

I’m glad the gravel bike has a Rohloff hub. It’s the only thing keeping me from REALLY wanting one. What a sexy frame!

Reading the headline I was all “that sounds heavy”
Can you imagine both a Pinion and a Rohloff on the same bike? That’s a pretty huge range.
All the gears! and no deraileurs

Good idea! 1200% range and over….because I need it. I often backdraft on buses to get to work.

I saw once an 81 gears bike: A triple chairing with an SRAM DualDrive (3 hub x 9 Cassette)

Actually a 3299.9% range and 252 gears on that setup. At 42 x 16 you’d have everything from 6.16 GI to 203.25 GI. So you could climb a vertical wall and break a speed record on the same bike 🙂

Becoming more and more interested in pinion box bikes for serious touring. Offset the weight by going to carbon frame and weight weenie everything else. This is getting closer.

Pinion box just came out with a limited geared and slightly lighter version. More r&d and we might be getting there.
