- We’ve been using the Crank Brothers Multi 19 Tool around Bikerumor’s office for almost five years and it’s yet to let us down. - Speaking of moto crossovers, Alpinestars’ Manual mountain bike shorts are popular for a reason. The Italian brand took their tough, race proven MX clothing and transformed it into some of the most functional and comfortable trail shorts around. - At this point, if you haven’t gone 1x on your mountain bike, you’re probably at least ready to. Absoluteblack makes it extremely easy with direct mount rings for SRAM GXP and BB30 cranks, and their oval narrow/wide design helps you keep traction on the climbs and your chain in place on the descents. Available in black, red, green and gold, from 26-34 teeth ($67.99).
- We all need them, we all use them, and yes, tire prices have gotten absolutely out of hand. So what better time to give or get new rubber? The Schwalbe Nobby Nic is one of our favorites thanks to great grip and easy tubeless set up. JensonUSA’s got all versions in 2.25 and 2.35 widths for 29er, starting at just $29.99. OVER $100
- Like tires, pedals wear out, too. One of our most highly rated pedals ever reviewed is the HT Components T1 pedal. The platform is perfectly sized for anything from XC to enduro, the curve and pin height keeps your shoes in place without restricting dance moves, and the retention can be dialed as tight as you like. - It’s hard to argue against Shimano’s legendary stopping power, especially when you can get virtually identical performance to their XTR and XT parts with the latest SLX stoppers ($159.98, or $79.99 per wheel).
- If you’ve had a dropper seatpost for a while, chances are it’s getting worn out. Some are rebuildable, and for others, the cost and effort might end up being more than the entry point for the new Fox Transfer. Our testing so far has been very positive, and it’s almost half the price of its top competitors ($264.00).
- What’s a wish list without at lease one pie-in-the-sky, budget busting item? If you’re gonna have hoop dreams, they may as well be hand-made-in-America carbon fiber hoops, laced to some of the most reliable hubs in the industry.
