It’s 2017 and it’s time for some new bikes from YT. With a fantastic 2016 in the mirror including a DH World Cup Series Title going to Aaron Gwin on a YT, the brand is looking to continue that momentum with a few new builds and sizes. Ramping up the bling factor, all three of their bikes including the JEFFSY, CAPRA, and TUES will be solds in a CF Pro Race Version. Using a race worthy build and a special finish, YT is banking on the desire for aspiring racers to have these new builds shipped directly to their door…
The new CF Pro Race builds will be easy to spot out on the trail given the fact that all of them feature the new Liquid Metal paint job. The aggressive 29er known as JEFFSY offers 140mm of travel front and rear with Fox Float Factory Kashima suspension, e*thirteen TRSr SL carbon wheels, and a SRAM X01 drivetrain but with the e*thirteen TRS+ cassette and RaceFace Next SL crank which offers a wider range than Eagle. Priced at $5,599, the bike has a claimed weight of 12.4 kg (27.3 lb), and comes in S-XL sizes.
If more travel and smaller wheels are your thing, then the new CAPRA CF Pro Race may be of interest. Using a similar build as the CF Pro Race JEFFSY, the CAPRA runs 170mm of Fox Float Factory Kashima suspension, a full complement of e*thirteen parts including the TRS+ cassette, TRSr cranks, 27.5″ wheels, and tires. Also available for $5,599, the bike is a little heavier given the additional travel at 13.2 kg (29.1 lb), and this year will be available in S-XL with an XL being added to the line up for the CAPRA CF.
The TUES CF Pro Race won’t guarantee you a World Cup Title, but the fact that you can buy what’s basically the same bike Gwin won on for only $5,999 is pretty impressive. Sure, you won’t get the World Cup level suspension tune from your own personal mechanics, or likely a number of custom tweaks that are only for Gwin, but no one will be disappointed with this build. Built with 27.5″ wheels, 203/208mm travel, and an e*thirteen DH build kit which includes their 7 speed cassette integrated into the hub, the TUES CF Pro Race is a steal at this price. Like the CAPRA, the TUES gains an XL size, and has a claimed weight of 15.4kg (33.95 lbs).
While the CF Pro Race builds are the newest additions to the line, each model still comes in a number of other builds down to the aluminum bikes with the lowest pricing. Some of the bikes won’t be available for delivery until later this spring, but they are all currently on the website for preorder.
