The new Forza 2.0 is Catlike’s first ever convertible helmet, with a snap-on chin bar that transitions it from breathable trail riding lid for climbing & all-around riding to full-on, full-face enduro protection for technical descending. We first had a glimpse of the new helmet (without its chin bar attached) back in August when David Cachon was riding the precarious El Caminito del Rey track. Developed specifically for the ups & downs or enduro, Catlike made sure to first building a well-vented all around helmet that they also say offers good enough protection for proper downhilling too…
The lightweight Forza is certainly slouch for long days on the bike either. Unlike most full-face options the Forza gets many large ventilation openings to keep the air flowing and is said to weigh just 668g (for EN certified model; CPSC version said to add ~110g), including the detachable chin bar guard.
The enduro helmet puts three large front-facing vents under the adjustable visor, which is open for five more forward vents. Connected through deep internal ventilation channels, five more vents across the top, six out back, and seven more in the chin bar all work together to get air moving freely through the helmet to keep the rider cool whether crawling uphill or bombing down the other side.
The chin guard snaps on & off quickly and easily with a two-point locking system on either side.
To operate it, you alight the chin bar with the upper pins in place, rotate it down to lock the upper pins in place, and engage the lower catches that secure the chin bar to the base of the helmet.
With a unique Boa wire retention system the Forza also offers a precise and secure fit on the head. Out back the helmet has what looks like a pretty standard retention setup adjustable up & down, and in circumference. But it is the cooperation with Boa technology that gives a special low profile Boa dial that offers unparalleled strength in a helmet retention system and the precise adjustment to adjust the fit one millimeter at a time with each click to really dial-in the most comfortable fit.
The helmet also includes an integrated clip at the rear vent to secure a goggle strap.
The new 200€/£150 Forza 2.0 is available in four color options – black/white/red, matte black, black/turquoise/orange & black/white/green – and two sizes Medium (55-58cm) & large (58-61cm). It is available now through your local Catlike distributor.
