What do you get the retiring Paris-Roubaix racer who has everything, including four previous victories at the “Hell of the North?” Something gold? Sure, but not just any gold – in this case, it is a pair of custom gold CeramicSpeed Pulley Wheels for the legendary Tom Boonen. At this point, the writing is on the wall – in his final attempt at Paris-Roubaix, and his final race of his career, Boonen was unable to capture a record-breaking fifth win. However, that still leaves him with a huge list of accomplishments including three wins at the Tour of Flanders, three at Gent-Wevelgem, and five at E3 Prijs Vlaanderen, not to mention six stage wins at the tour. Oh, and a gold medal at the World Championship in 2005. Yes, Boonen has had a stellar career, the reminders of which are laser engraved onto these pulley wheels…

As a Quick-Step Floors team sponsor, CeramicSpeed put together this custom gold set of pulleys as a tribute to Boonen’s excellence at Paris-Roubaix. Engraved with his four victories (05, 08, 09, and 12), the flashy gold pulleys look right at home on his Specialized tribute bike. However, it doesn’t look like he used them during the race which is totally fine. Even though these pulleys are built for performance, something tells me that they will be displayed untouched in their presentation box in Boonen’s expansive trophy case.

No price ? Then it’s scary enough. Like ” if you have to ask you cannot afford it “.

Next logical step is gemstone pulleys such as diamond, ruby, emerald and sapphire.
It would be awesome to have one million euro pulley on a bike.

They look a lot more like gold annodized than actual AU! I would bite them to be sure.

Of course they are just gold anodized aluminum, not actual gold. Real gold is so soft it would wear out in 500 miles. That said, this is truly ” a fool and his money” product.
