Trek’s Domane platform just got a little more accessible. Adding to their aluminum side, the ALR series is now joined by the new AL 2 and AL 3. Built on the principals of the Domane with wider tires and an emphasis on versatile, all day ride comfort, the AL series drops the price substantially making the Domane even more accessible to riders around the globe…
Offered in both men’s and women’s models, both the AL 2 and AL 3 use an Alpha 100 series aluminum frame along with a carbon IsoSpeed fork. Frames are equipped with hidden rack and fender mounts to build in versatility, and will ship with 28mm tires with clearance for fenders. All frames utilize a 1 1/8″ integrated headset, 27.2mm seat posts, and a threaded bottom bracket. Further customization can be added with the Bontrager Blendr mounts on the stem for accessories, as well as the DuoTrap S sensor compatibility.
The biggest difference between the AL 2 and AL 3 is the choice of drivetrain, with the AL 3/AL 3 Women’s going with a full Shimano Sora 2×9 drivetrain while the AL 2/AL 2 Women’s will run Shimano Claris. Built with Trek’s Endurance Geometry, the women’s models will include women’s specific touch points and an altered size range. Pricing for the AL 3 is set at $929, while the pricing for the AL 2 is TBA. Available immediately, check out trekbikes.com for more details.
