After giving us a micro masterclass in hex tool design, tolerances and bolt compatibility (seriously, watch this video for all you need to know about tool-bolt interfaces), Silca showed off their new seat roll and phone case. The Silca Seat Roll Grande Americano isn’t just named patriotically because it’s bigger than their original, but also because it’s made here in the States.
It’ll hold a 27.5×3″ or 29×2.5″ mountain bike tube, plus tool, CO2 and regulator, tire levers, patch kit and the like. The tube shown here for reference is a 27.5×2.25.
Like the Premio, it uses a BOA dial to cinch it tight to your saddle rails, and they say you want to cinch it until you can’t turn the knob any more. We grabbed one for review, stay tuned. Retail is $58, available now.
The Borsa Americano is made of recycled inner tubes and wetsuit material, made to hold the largest smartphones plus other random stuff (cash, cards, etc.). Where most of their bags have thoughtfully planned out pockets designed to organize bike tools, CO2, etc., the Borsa’s pockets are intentionally generic so you can use it however you want. Retail is $45.
